yet it seemed worth it;

worthy enough, to give it a try.

There was a turmoil,

Brain Popsicle

1338424174650

No matter how brilliant your brain works, once in a while you do find it turn into a Popsicle. Frozen with splashes of colors running down your veins and you don’t remember even the silly things like names, dates and faces. The cold, sweeps through each of your neurons and makes you a living-dead for a few seconds, minutes or hours. All this time, your basic cognitive powers are lost.

Feeling lost in the world you know all about, is a common phenomenon with many and the same goes for me.

Life in a metro – Kolkata

I know that the title sounds quite  familiar, but; here I am referring particularly to the Metro railways of Kolkata and not the movie ‘Life in a Metro‘.

Life in Kolkata is dependent on Metro railway. It is, the lifeline of the city that connects it from one end to the other. No, this is not ‘The news’ I was talking about. Continue reading

Okay, this is not a post, it is just something I thought I should share. I know that most of you already know of it and it is definitely not something that would get into the list of things that is found on other planets like say, water or ice or some type of life form. Our world is already full of life but yes happiness is something each on of us hunt for, be it consciously or unconsciously. It definitely feels awesome to find a place on earth where people are happy. Continue reading

The night, when life was sucked out…

One night, I had a mental block or in my context you can simply put it as a writer’s block, that means that point of time you know when you actually don’t know that you really know something.  That was the night when I decided I should pen down my thoughts, so that I read it the next day when my brain gets back its life in order to sit back and analyze the points I make when my brain is not functioning properly. The Confession of a Killer

js

It was in the year 2008, I met the love of my life. He was very understanding (at-least, I thought he was), he let me throw up all my emotions (rage, sorrow, happiness) at him and still at the end consoled me with warmth. But, it was me who betrayed him, I only met him once or twice a year, since I was busy with stuff that seemed to be of much more importance to me. Continue reading

Kolkata – the road less traveled

Kolkata

Kolkata (Photo credit: flipnomad)

I stepped onto the land of Kolkata, almost a year back in September 2012. Hailing from Bangalore, it was a drastic step to relocate myself to a city that is so different from the one I was born and brought up in.
Kolkata greeted me with all its glory and broke me down just within the first few days of being here.
The day I reached  City of Joy  was when I realized that this city also has loads of bitterness, somber and sorrow folded in every corner.

Tram, Kolkata

It seems good to be a part of our ancestral heritage to see the rikshawala manually  pulling his cart from one corner of the street to the other while he rings his bell. But to me, it always seemed wrong get on their cart and let them pull me around. This simply reminds me of slavery to some extent.  However, my weight (after gorging on good food and chocolates) scares me to even think of making the rikshawala work so hard to earn that little wage. after all every girl feels that she has gained loads of weight  once she has gorged on to some good amount of calories right.

The thought of visiting a city filled with sweetness brought me here. I used to think that, everything that this city holds is sweet. So when I was actually here, it all seemed different. I still stand by by thoughts, there is sweetness in the air here. There is a bit of heritage in every nook and corner of this city and there is crap, dirt and bitters here and there too.

So if you want to enjoy all the goodies this city has to offer, you will have to move through the shortcomings as well.

Life in Kolkata is a lot more than what one expects. I shows you both the worlds (good and bad, new and old) living together in harmony.

One life wasted!!

So it happened almost an year ago, when I got my hands on blogging here. I wrote a few posts on the first few days and then abandoned the blog for quite a long time. Now that I am back I hope to stay and write a lot more than ever.

Coming back, a long weekend makes you wonder about loads of things in your life. One such thing that made me go deep into the topic and made my mind go berserk is civilization.

Questions like, “Why do we do stuffs that we do on a regular basis?” hit me hard in my head. Stuff that you really don’t want to do but have no choice. We actually run after some weird concepts found by our ancestors without questioning.  We follow things blindly since the time we were born, we do what we are asked to do by our loved ones. We spend our lifetime doing stuffs we don’t like, in order to be able to do stuff we want to and if it doesn’t work out that way we bring up our children, provide  them all amenities we wanted to get when we were young, thus making our kids lead a life that we ever wanted to enjoy.

In simple words, we humans run after things that we crave for and in order to get there we do stuff that we don’t like and spend our lifetime getting there.

May be, you did get me, may be you didn’t. If you didn’t get it yet, let me give you an example.

As kids, we were asked to score great marks in all our grades, we strived harder with every test and learned. We used to focus on subjects we didn’t like in order to get good grades to choose the subject we always wanted to study during graduation and post grads. At this point we had already spend around 18 years of our lives. Then we switch to work, we get ourselves jobs. Majority of those who have a job realize that their job is not what they want to do and most of them have no other choice than to stick to the same job, so that they fulfill their responsibilities towards their family and help themselves sustain. They become more or less financially dependent on their jobs. The rest, jump from one job to another until they realize their interest lies in a totally different career and finds solace in either music, writing, painting, photography or any other creative domain.

so basically we take the longest possible route to reach our destination and while travelling, most of the time we actually don’t remember where we had to go and get to a completely wrong place. How stupid is that? How about it, that our life just ends in the middle of the path and we never reach our destination.

I really don’t have any idea, if any of you really get my point but yes I think it is weird if we really don’t have such psychic thoughts once in a while.

Eureka!!

India - Day 1 - No Spiting

India – Day 1 – No Spiting (Photo credit: The MacKay Way)

Wow!! You know what? I just thought I now know how to track all those people who spit anywhere and every where in India.

Note- I know that I haven’t  discovered or invented anything here, its just a weird thought that crossed my mind and I thought i discovered the idea. If you were thinking of reading about some new invention in technology here, I am sorry you might find totally out of place stuff here. so read ahead only at your own risk.

Almost all Indians have seen those colorful and translucent spit on roads, walls, doors and what not, while they travel from one point to the other of any city or state. We have come across almost all types of spits, ranging from red, orange green, brown (these are the outcome of chewing betel leaves and other forms of tobacco) to the normal translucent once with bubbles and phlegm in it. I know it sounds a bit gross, but never mind.

There are walls and stations that bluntly says not to spit or you will be fined. I think it is important to catch the culprit whenever they dirty a clean place by fining a good amount and if it all goes well then, the person will think twice before spitting. So if this happens to every body who blindly spits here and there, each one of them will think more than twice before they spit.

This is the reason the genius in me thought why not have a system that will analyse  (maybe ) the DNA of the spit and match it and find the culprit for a hefty fine. So every time there is spit on walls or roads it should get collected and analysed, a DNA test should be done and the person should be caught.

Do you know, what will be the result of this? Yes, India will be free from the wild clutches of the SPIT beast.

I thought of this and kept chuckling  thinking about the genius in me who came up with such a brilliant idea.

P.S- I have no Idea if this will work or not ( most probably it wont) and I am sure, spitting colored spit on roads will prevail in this country for at-least as long as I live.
